Farmers Can Help Select Non-Profit Grant Recipient

America’s Farmers Grow Communities, a promotion sponsored by Monsanto, is offering eligible farmers the opportunity to enroll for a chance to win a $2,500 donation to their favorite community non-profit organization, according to Senator Michele Brooks.

The program is intended to make a positive impact in farming communities across America. One winner will be randomly selected in each of the 1,331 eligible counties across 41 states. Official rules for America’s Farmers Grow Communities are available here.

Senator Brooks stated, “I know our local farming community will be interested in helping to select a local non-profit to receive this grant.”

Entrants must:
1) live or farm in an Eligible County (Erie, Crawford and Mercer Counties are eligible in the 50th Senatorial District);
2) be 21 years of age or older at time of enrollment;
3) be actively engaged in farming a minimum of 250 acres of corn, soybeans, and/or cotton or 40 acres of open field vegetables, or at least 10 acres of tomatoes, peppers, and/or cucumbers grown in protected culture (glasshouse, net house, plastic).

Entrants are limited to one entry per qualified person (regardless of the form of entry). Application deadline is 5:00 p.m. Central Time on November 30, 2016. For more information visit or by phone at 1-877-267-3332. The selection of the winner will be on or about December 5, 2016.
