HARRISBURG – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has named Sen. Michele Brooks (R-50) a 2024 Guardian of Small Business, recognizing her unwavering support for Pennsylvania’s small business community. Brooks is one of only five state senators to receive this prestigious award, earning a perfect 100% voting record on key legislation that promotes small business growth, job creation and community vitality.
The honor coincides with Pennsylvania’s celebration of Small Business Saturday, held this past weekend to spotlight the nearly 1.1 million small businesses that make up 99.6% of all enterprises in the state. These businesses employ approximately 2.5 million Pennsylvanians, highlighting their vital contribution to the state’s economy.
“I am deeply honored to receive this award and remain committed to partnering with our job creators to strengthen Pennsylvania’s economy,” said Brooks. “Small Business Saturday is a reminder of the incredible value local businesses bring to our communities, and I hope this year’s celebration inspired even more Pennsylvanians to support them.”
Throughout her tenure, Brooks has been a steadfast advocate for policies that reduce regulatory burdens, cut taxes and foster an environment where entrepreneurs can thrive. Her leadership underscores her belief in the power of small businesses to drive economic growth and enrich communities.
“Supporting small businesses is about more than shopping locally – it’s about investing in the people who make our communities stronger and more resilient,” Brooks added.
