Brooks, Wentling Announce More Than $1 Million Approved for Transportation Projects in Mercer County

HARRISBURG – Sen. Michele Brooks (R-50) and Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced today the approval of Multimodal Transportation Fund grants for key infrastructure projects in Mercer County. The grants, awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, will enhance transportation safety, connectivity and economic growth in the region.

“These investments in our community’s infrastructure are crucial for improving access and mobility, while also supporting economic development,” said Brooks. “I was pleased to work with these project applicants to help secure assistance that seeks to improve the quality of life for our residents while enhancing public safety”

“These projects will help improve transportation quality for the people of the 7th Legislative District and these grants will be a major boost in getting them done,” said Wentling.

Sharon City – East Silver Street Multimodal Improvements – $626,370

This initiative aims to improve transportation options along East Silver Street, promoting multimodal connectivity in Sharon City.

City of Hermitage – LindenPointe Road Extension Project$150,000

This project will support the expansion of LindenPointe Road in Hermitage City, improving access and traffic flow in the area.

St. Paul Homes – Pedestrian Bridge and Connector System$150,000

The grant will support the construction of a pedestrian bridge over Williamson Road, improving accessibility and safety for residents of West Salem Township.

Perry Township – Plant Road Culvert Replacement – $100,000

Funds will be used to replace a culvert on Plant Road, enhancing road safety and infrastructure resilience in Perry Township.

The grants were awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority through its Multimodal Transportation Fund, which supports projects that ensure a safe and reliable system of transportation for Pennsylvania residents.
