Brooks Announces More Than $1 Million in CFA Grants for Crawford County Infrastructure and Development Projects

HARRISBURG – Sen. Michele Brooks (R-50) today announced that the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) has awarded grants totaling $1,025,015 to support various infrastructure, recreation and business revitalization projects throughout Crawford County.

“These projects represent a commitment to partnering with local communities to help build a brighter and more prosperous future for Crawford County,” said Brooks. “With these vital investments, we are helping to create stronger, safer and more resilient communities.”

Cambridge Springs Borough has been awarded $200,000 to fund park renovations and a recreation project. These improvements are designed to enhance outdoor recreational opportunities for residents and visitors, promoting community engagement and healthier lifestyles.

The North and South Shenango Joint Municipal Authority will receive $100,000 for the installation of an interceptor station standby generator, which will provide much-needed backup power to maintain critical wastewater services during emergencies.

Bloomfield Township Sewage Authority has been granted $150,000 to rehabilitate sewage pump stations and the wastewater treatment plant. This project is essential for improving the efficiency and reliability of wastewater treatment services in the township.

Conneaut Lake Borough has secured $100,000 for the revitalization of its downtown business district. This funding will help rejuvenate the local economy by improving infrastructure and making the area more attractive to businesses, residents and tourists alike.

The Economic Progress Alliance of Crawford County in Vernon Township will receive $150,000 for infrastructure improvements at Crawford Business Park, including a roof replacement. These upgrades are critical for supporting business development and job growth in the area. The business park is home to over 25 tenants who employ more than 800 people.

Sadsbury Township will benefit from a $100,000 grant to purchase a new wheel loader, a vital piece of equipment for maintaining local infrastructure and handling seasonal road maintenance.

Saegertown Borough has been allocated $25,015 to acquire a leaf vacuum and mulcher, which will streamline the borough’s leaf collection process and improve local sanitation.

West Mead Township will receive $100,000 for a John Deere wheel loader to assist with road repairs and other essential municipal services, ensuring that local infrastructure is properly maintained.

And finally, Vernon Township has been awarded $100,000 for the creation of Roche Park Miracle Field, an adaptive baseball field designed for players with disabilities. This inclusive project will provide opportunities for all community members to participate in recreational sports.

“These grants will make a tangible difference in the everyday lives of Crawford County residents,” said Brooks. “From park improvements to essential infrastructure upgrades, the projects announced today will help ensure that our communities remain vibrant. Established in 2004 as an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the CFA was created to administer the commonwealth’s economic stimulus packages. The PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act provides for the distribution of gaming revenues through the CFA to support projects in the public interest within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
