Brooks Announces $500,000 Awarded for Lawrence County Improvement Project

HARRISBURG – Sen. Michele Brooks (R-50) announced today $500,000 for an improvement project in Lawrence. The funding is being awarded through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP).

“This project to modernize the Wright Building is a big step toward reaching the goal of offering new business and residential opportunities for downtown New Castle,” Brooks said. “Understanding what these grant opportunities mean to the community, I appreciated the chance to work with the Redevelopment Authority of Lawrence County and DON Enterprises on this project application.”

DON Enterprises, Inc. has been awarded a grant of $500,000 to help complete the Union Station Crossing Wright Building Revitalization project. This comprehensive renovation will include storm water management upgrades, parking lot improvements and new interior walls and flooring will be installed.

The RACP is a Commonwealth grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the design, acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.
