Support Mercer County’s Philadelphia Candies

Do you have a few minutes to vote for Mercer County’s own Philadelphia Candies in a national eBay contest?

The candy business, now celebrating its 100th year of operation, was one of eight small businesses selected from a pool of 1,600 applicants across the U.S., to receive a Shine Award.

The store scored high on originality; clarity of expression; passion for using eBay; embodiment of eBay’s core seller values; and the degree to which eBay has contributed to the business’s success.

The Shine Award automatically enters the Hermitage shop in the competition for the 2019 eBay Small Business of the Year, which is decided by public support.

If you wish to support Philadelphia Candies as the Small Business of the Year, you can vote until Thursday at www.ebayopen.com/ShineAwards

Philadelphia Candies is the only finalist representing Pennsylvania and Ohio and the only business representing a rural area. The other finalists are primarily from large cities.

The 2019 Small Business of the Year will receive $15,000; the two “platinum winners” will each receive $10,000; and the five “gold winners” will each receive $5,000, among a variety of additional prizes including eBay shipping supplies, promoted listing credits, 1- year store subscription and Concierge customer service.

Good luck to one of our favorite sweet spots!
